PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

The Finance Director – AbbVie Endocrinology, Inc. will provide financial leadership, business expertise, guidance, and support to the general manager. The position executes a full range of controllership responsibilities including financial record keeping, reporting, profit planning, systems operations, and financial analysis.  The position is expected to seek out cost opportunities and assist in managing the organization in achieving optimum financial performance.

 

This position is part of AbbVie’s Operations Finance group and requires a creative individual with the ability to grasp and implement concepts with a minimum amount of supervision.  This individual should possess strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.  This position will lead direct and indirect reports.            

 

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Working with AEI Leadership and US Commercial, lead AEI’s Governance Model, the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Process, which includes Demand Planning (S&OP) and Supply Management.

 

  • Partner with US Patient Services, Commercial Finance, and AEI to lead strategic product launches and other implementations; and actively seek improvements. Communicate results and identify trends and opportunities.

 

  • Lead the Material Planning function ensuring appropriate supply and DOH management to meet demand with proper inventory controls, including Business Continuity Planning

 

  • Responsible for end-to-end management of Order-to-Cash including contractual agreements with payers, pricing, invoicing, and cash collection, while ensuring proper controls in accordance with AbbVie’s Policies and with the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), as well as Medicare/Medicaid invoicing requirements.  Extensive collaboration with US Commercial Government Pricing.

 

  • As the business owner, partner with BTS AEI as well as BTS Enterprise and Financial Shared Service GPLs to ensure the integrity of data between the system of record, SAP, and Model N is maintained.

 

  • Lead the annual labor standards setting process to ensure appropriate costing is developed to cover service costs, assessing risks and related P&L impacts.

 

  • Lead the development and reporting of Actuals, Plan, Latest Best Estimate (LBE) and Long Range Plan (LRP) including capital, expense, and headcount.

 

 

  • Partner with Internal Audit and SOX teams to provide for an adequate protection of the company’s assets, ensuring that internal and external (pharmacy) policies are effectively applied.

 

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and development to financial support staff.

 

  • Create an environment that attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse and highly talented workforce.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

 

  • A degree in accounting, finance or economics is required (Master’s Degree or equivalent experience highly desirable); CPA or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 -15 years of relevant experience; broad exposure to all aspects of finance and business with emphasis on accounting, financial planning & analysis, internal controls, talent management and business partnering.
  • Three plus years supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; fluency in English is a must.
  • Candidate must be highly proficient working with MS Office tools; SAP.
