The Senior Manager of the Corporate PMO has multi-dimensional responsibilities to drive projects as a Project Manager, and to lead diagnostics and business case development for operational and process improvements for Corporate Operations and to related functions. This role will partner with various business functions in the execution and delivery of key projects and programs across Corporate Operations and CFO organizations.

This role is responsible for utilizing and evolving our current process improvement approach to identifying and analyzing business opportunities and using industry-standard and Gilead-based frameworks to formulate the project approach, roadmaps, work plans, and and communicating and measuring value and impact of the initiatives.

This role will report to the Executive Director, Corporate PMO and Operational Excellence, and will work closely across Corporate PMO to share learnings and findings on ways to improve Operational Excellence and Project Management capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead projects that spans across regions or have multi- function impact

  • Lead in developing a proposal for medium/large project plan and size budget needs to complete the scope, soliciting input from cross-functional team members

  • Responsible for the development, guidance, and governance of methodologies and project approaches:

  • Problem & Goal statement definition

  • Operational performance diagnostics and process performance

  • Financial statement analysis

  • Process mapping and value stream mapping

  • Business case development, “ROI” determination

  • Project planning and management methodology

  • Benefits identification and realization

  • Able to drive effective program and stakeholder communications and engage in strategic discussions

  • Recommend operating cadence for governance, status update and risks/issues tracking independently

  • Work well across all levels of the organization to excel in stakeholder engagement and user community alignment

  • Develop independently components and modules of information needed for Change Management and/or Communications to user and broader community

  • Exercise significant independent judgement within defined practices to determine best methods for achieving project objectives

    Experience & Skills

  • 8+ years of consulting and/or direct business operational responsibilities

  • Exceptional knowledge of analytical tools and methodologies

  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement and Agile

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools

  • Expertise in FP&A, budget planning and management

  • Significant experience in providing operational updates to senior management

  • Deep experience in developing executive presentations and status update

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and influencing skills

  • Positive attitude and a customer centric approach

  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma or equivalent certification
