WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Sorrento Therapeutics (“Sorrento”) is seeking an experienced Scientist/Process Development and Manufacturing Associate II who will be responsible for process development, process qualification and validation, as well as manufacturing tasks including mammalian cell culture, cell banking, media preparation for production of clinical and commercial products. The individual must have good understanding of primary cell immunology and cancer biology. Qualified applicants will be considered for the appropriate position based on experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Independently design, plan, initiate and conduct human mesenchymal stem cell and human T cell studies focused on process development, process qualification and validation for manufacturing at pilot and GMP scale.
  • Author reports, SOPs, Forms, batch records and other materials to facilitate tech transfer, manufacturing, and regulatory submissions as well as maintain detailed documentation records.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables.
  • Effectively communicate plans and results in both oral and written forms with people from cross-functional team.
  • May lead training for junior members.
  • Follow SOPs, SPRs and BPRs to process cGMP manufacturing when required.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master or Ph.D. in Life Sciences
  • Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture. Experience in primary cell or mesenchymal stem cell is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of related field experience. Experience in aseptic technique is highly preferred. CRISPR experience or bioreactor experience is a plus. Previous experiences in process development, process qualification and validation are desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, plan, and execute studies independently
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions in a cGMP environment with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to work as a team player as well as work independently.
