Job Summary

Reporting to Senior Director, Program Management, the Senior Project Manager, Program Management supports the development and maintenance of the Centralized Project Management system and provides Project Management support in documenting, tracking, reporting and when necessary escalation of team and working group activities, issues and risks ensuring alignment and support of Sierra corporate goals and objectives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Centralized Project Management system:
    • Supports the development and implementation of the Centralized Project Management structure including communication, tracking and reporting tools
    • Assesses and continuously improves current communication/reporting/ tracking tools for effectiveness, efficiency and ease of use
    • Responds to requests for new tools
    • Manages Smartsheet permission levels and licenses
    • Awareness of industry standard project management structure and tools and assesses appropriateness and when needed refines Sierra’s framework against these standards based on size of company and stage of asset development
  • Provision of Project management support to specific teams or working groups:
    • Ensure alignment and codification of all required activities into project logs and to track progress against targeted timelines
    • Support issue resolution and drive risk identification, assessment and mitigation planning including adequate documentation/follow-up of ongoing issues and risks
    • As required design and maintain reporting of project management activities via tools such as dashboards, slides etc.
    • Facilitates required communications via meeting scheduling, agenda development and follow-up activities
  • Provides support to overall program management activities including presentation content development, participation in Sr. Mgmt. meetings to prepare minutes/actions and providing follow-up as necessary.
  • Develops and utilizes decision support models, Gantt charts and timelines to enable achievement of goals.
  • Supports the maintenance and ongoing evolvement of the Corporate Governance Model including evaluation of program management platforms to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a Life Sciences discipline or an advanced degree in Life Sciences or Business preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-8+ years of directly related pharmaceutical industry experience preferably with product operations experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of the drug development process and the interdependencies of individual development activities and projects.
  • Highly developed negotiation skills demonstrating the ability to influence teams while not having formal authority.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task while working under heavy deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Smartsheets and advanced knowledge of Internet search engines and data sources.
