Senior Scientist, Cell Engineering
The Position:
Bolt Biotherapeutics is seeking a talented Senior Scientist to join the Department of Immunology & Pharmacology. The candidate will report to the Director of Molecular and Cellular Biology and will develop cell lines and assays to support screening and pre-clinical development for the pipeline including Bolt’s novel Boltbody™ Immune-stimulating Antibody Conjugates (ISACs) drug candidates. Bolt promotes a highly interactive intellectual environment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in vector design and generation of modified cell lines. A strong background in cancer biology, immunology or cell biology is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cell line development for all of research
- Coordinate cell line needs across research by leading regular meetings with stakeholders
- Modify cell lines by introduction of exogenous genes, knockout of endogenous genes, or knockdown of expression
- Design Plasmid and lentiviral constructs
- Design CRISPR guide RNAs for gene knockout, etc.
- Generate pools and clones by cell sorting
- Develop reporter and other cell based assays
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Cell Biology, Immunology, or related field with 5-10 years of experience in biologic or cellular therapeutic discovery / development.
- Experience using various protein expression vectors, construct design, cloning, PCR, primer design, use of CRISPR technology.
- Cell transduction/transfection, electroporation, flow cytometry / soring, immunofluorescence microscopy, reporter assays, ELISA, SDS-PAGE/western blotting.
- Strong presentation and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and collaborative skills.
