Head of Operations – Law Department and BD&L

Company Description 

Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real-time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets. 

The parallel development of custom software solutions commensurate with the groundbreaking nature of this discovery platform, to enable the collection, analysis, and understanding of the large, high-content datasets that these microscopes produce, is key to Eikon’s mission of discovering new life-saving drugs.   

About You 

The Head of Operations will be an integral part of Eikon’s growing legal and BD&L teams and will have responsibility for multiple areas, including by working with colleagues from all parts of the Company to establish a variety of processes and systems.  The Head of Operations will be responsible for selecting and implementing a document management system for the legal department and an opportunity tracking system for BD&L.  The Head of Operations will also work with the GC & CBO on the hiring of key staff for each of the departments and for establishing the processes by which key activities are conducted.  The Head of Operations will also be responsible for managing the day to day operations of each of these departments including tracking budgets, headcount and other activities such as managing logistics for participation in partnering meetings such as JPM.   The Head of Operations may also help from time to time on individual partnering opportunities for the BD&L group.  

What You’ll Do 

• Collaborate with the GC/CBO on the hiring of legal department and business development staff
• Develop and document the company’s partnering process and the means for tracking business development projects
• Select and implement a document management system for the company’s contracting process and documents
• Measuring the performance of the legal function and the business development function
• Planning for the participation of the business development team in partnering meetings, including arranging logistics and creating promotional materials 

Qualifications 

• An undergraduate and at least one advanced degree
• 12+ years of relevant experience in companies in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
• Demonstrated abilities to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with leadership, scientists and G&A colleagues
• Excellent project management and negotiation skills
• Ability to work and make decisions independently
