About the role

Sana Biotechnology is growing, and we are hiring new team members who believe in the potential of engineered cells as medicines. The T cell therapeutics team in Seattle, WA is looking for a highly curious individual to help bring these novel cell therapies to patients. We are looking for individuals who are inspired to challenge the status quo with a passion for working on novel ideas. As a Research Associate, you will work together with the Senior Scientist to perform research-stage science with the goal of advancing our novel hypoimmune (HIP) and in vivo fusogen-based delivery of CAR T-cells.

What you'll do

  • Engineer and maintain primary immune cells and tumor cell lines
  • Implement assays to interrogate T cell phenotype and function
  • Analyze and communicate experimental data to supervisor and broader team
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental protocols and data in an electronic lab notebook
  • Work in close collaboration with other scientists in a team environment

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) in molecular/cellular biology, immunology or related scientific discipline with 1 or more years post-degree experience or equivalent Master's degree (M.S./M.A)
  • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique
  • Hand-on experience with molecular biology techniques including PCR, restriction digestion/ligation, Gibson assembly, plasmid prep
  • Experience with cell-based assays to analyze T cell phenotype and function including multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA/MSD and in vitro cytotoxicity assays
  • Ability to work independently with an interest in learning and problem-solving
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

What will separate you from the crowd

  • Understanding of the immunological techniques, with experience working with T cells or NK cells
  • Technical expertise in flow cytometry: panel design, optimization, and data analysis using FlowJo
  • Experience with IncuCyte, MSD, Isoplexis or LUMICKS platforms
  • Familiarity with CAR-T based therapeutic development
  • Experience with lentiviral vector production and BSL2+ work
