As a key member of the Accounting Operations team, you will be responsible for assisting on high-priority process improvement initiatives for the Accounting team.   Your main tasks will include performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and communicating findings.  You will also develop logic to process data more effectively.  You will perform a variety of critical tasks to support the day-to-day operations of the Senior Director of Accounting Operations.  You will be a vital link between our Accounting team and the Accounting Operations team.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Manage, interpret, and validate data that is produced by the Accounting team, maintaining the focus on improving the quality of processes.
  • Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and producing useful reports.
  • Work with implementation team to define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements.
  • Develop process flow and data processing logic.
  • Help design, document, and maintain system processes.
  • Communicate key insights, findings, and the results of your efforts to management and cross-functional team members.
  • Perform quality assurance during and after implementation.
  • Provide recommendations for possible process changes to help optimize current procedures in support of maximizing outcomes.

To be considered for this opportunity you must possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience ideally in a science or research driven environment. Six Sigma certified is preferred.  We need someone who has an analytical mind and can quickly understand data processes within a large ERP financial system such as Oracle, SAP or Workday.  This person should be well versed in accounting principles and P&L statements. They must have fluency with Microsoft desktop apps such as Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
