Schrödinger is a publicly-traded company on the cutting edge of computer-aided drug discovery and materials science. Our software suites continue to revolutionize the way research is conducted - FEP+, Glide, WaterMap, Maestro, and LiveDesign are just a few examples of the programs we’ve created.

As part of our Finance team, you’ll play a crucial role in payroll processes for US and global employees while assisting with equity administration. This position offers a unique opportunity for interaction with employees across various levels, locations, and departments. By providing timely, accurate, and diligent customer service to your coworkers, you’ll make a visible contribution to the company as a whole.

Who will love this job:

  • An approachable and friendly communicator with great interpersonal skills and professional judgement who enjoys cultivating positive business relationships with internal and external customers
  • A multitasker with impeccable attention to detail and an ability to effectively prioritize tasks
  • An ethical professional with unassailable integrity and reliability who can treat confidential information with discretion
  • An enthusiastic, results-oriented self-starter with demonstrated initiative and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills
  • An excellent verbal and written communicator who enjoys working both collaboratively and independently
  • A continuous learner open to coaching and long-term development

What you’ll do:

  • Process full cycle payrolls with external vendors for approximately 600 employees across multiple locations
  • Manage employee compensation-related actions with HR and Finance
  • Keep up to date on changes in payroll/equity rules and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Provide payroll reports to Finance, HR, and management as requested
  • Process terminations, garnishments, and other payroll actions
  • Prepare off-cycle payrolls for stock option exercises
  • Complete payroll-related journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with annual audits (financial, worker’s compensation, 401k plan), in addition to equity grants, transactions, and reporting

What you should have:

  • At least two years of full-cycle payroll experience within multiple states and jurisdictions (global payroll processing is a plus)
  • Working knowledge of payroll requirements and state and federal tax codes
  • Background in Payroll/HRIS systems – UKG Pro (formerly UltiPro) is preferred
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite applications (advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills are a plus)
  • Familiarity with equity management is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree (FPC or CPP certification is a plus)

Pay and perks:

Schrödinger understands it’s people that make a company great. Because of this, we’re prepared to offer a competitive salary, stock options, and a wide range of benefits that include healthcare (with dental and vision), a 401k, pre-tax commuter benefits, a flexible work schedule with hybrid workweeks, and a parental leave program. We have catered meals during our Tuesday through Thursday in-office days, a company culture that is relaxed but engaged, and over a month of paid vacation time.  Our Administrative and Human Resources departments also plan a myriad of fun company-wide events.
