How will you make an impact?
The Program Manager will be a part of the Strategy, Portfolio, and Program Management Team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As part of this team you will have medium complexity Project Management responsibilities. In this role you will contribute to portfolio management tasks such as: data collection, data verification, data analysis, and presentation preparation.
Leads cross-functional teams to develop new products, from initiation through commercial launch, with the goal of not only delivering products of high quality and value to the organization, but also of delivering them within agreed-upon schedule, resources, budget and scope.
What will you do?

  • Acts as program champion; develops bottoms-up plans and proactively manages program risks, in order to successfully deliver all program deliverables. Solves problems and leads crises optimally and independently.
  • You will need to use MS Project or equivalent tools for all projects
  • Estimate resource demand which will accompany schedule analysis to ensure proper staffing of projects and programs
  • Collect and analyze portfolio data to highlight where resource supply is not balanced with demand across the portfolio
  • May support staff and senior staff level program managers with larger programs that consist of several smaller projects.
  • Acts as information conduit between core team and leadership; prepares and presents program reviews to leadership as core team leader.
  • Provides constructive communication to drive NPI process improvements. Sponsors change initiatives & builds best practices regarding program management & product development in the strategic business segment.

How will you get here?
Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S. or B.A.), preferred in the Life Sciences, from four-year college or university
  • 6 -10+ years of combined product development and project management experience, of which a portion must be in the life sciences/biotechnology industries

  • Interacts and establishes effective links with core and extended team members, functional managers, senior management, and customers.
  • Able to influence others, gain acceptance in critical situations and resolve conflict
  • Develops and delivers original persuasive presentations to larger groups
