Job Purpose:

To provide operational and strategic program management leadership for one or more New Product Development programs.

Major Accountabilities:
  • Lead one or more cross-functional matrixed Core Program Development Teams (CPT) operationally and strategically.
  • Chair CPT meetings for efficient and effective outcomes, ensure Minutes are captured and Action/Decision log is updated
  • Responsible for production of all necessary team documents (Program Scope, Schedule, Budget, Risk Management Plan) using appropriate software and templates
  • Monitor cross-functional project activities for adherence to milestone timelines, deliverables and budget against approved plan
  • Maintain integrated project plan to track risk management, opportunities and milestones; ensure continuous consistency with program strategy.
  • Provide timely, accurate and objective project status reports or meeting minutes, using appropriate templates and providing the appropriate level of information for the target audience.
  • Provide PM support (cross-functional) to Regulatory lead to support filings and other interactions with regulatory authorities
  • Prepare pre-read Reports and presentation materials (e.g., slides) for Program Review Committee (PRC) meetings using standardized templates and reporting tools and to high standard. Lead team presentation at PRC, inviting Subject Matter Experts (SME), who are typically members of CPT or RDLT, to present topics and issues as appropriate
  • Serve as neutral and objective facilitator to ensure open and transparent communication within the team, between team and functions, and to senior leadership.
  • Directly accountable to a Director level or higher in PPM but also accountable to key stakeholders in other functions including but not necessarily limited to Technical Development, Technical Operations (Manufacturing), Quality and Regulatory
  • Provide Project Management advice to Working Groups or Expert Teams serving the CPT in the United States, UK and AU

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in life-sciences, medical-related sciences or public health with specialization in PM a plus. Experience equivalent to a graduate degree may also be acceptable.
  • 8+ years of relevant post-undergraduate work or academic experience
  • 5+ years of directly relevant PM experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably manufacturing of vaccines or other biologics.
  • Strong negotiation skills with ability to persuade others and understand the position of others
  • Very strong interpersonal skills with ability to bridge between scientific and non-scientific team members, develop and manage relationships in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to work across global time zones in the US, UK and AU
