Purpose:

Finance Shared Services (FSS) is AbbVie's standardized global end-to-end back-office processes that support operations and transactional business activities enabling our company to run. These standardized processes are our Global Operating Model. Many people refer to FSS as "back office". 

Back office is comprised of areas that do not generate revenue but provide vital support and administration that get product to our patients which is exactly what FSS does.

The goal of the FSS Community is to work together to align transactional business activities and to advance the global operating model which helps to meets patient needs. The FSS organization is comprised of both process governance and operational execution. FSS maintains global processes across the Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Record to Report, and Master Data processes.

The primary focus of this position is to provide support for the Global Process Lead for Order to Cash (OTC) in sub-process areas such as order management, customer service, pricing, SAP security, credit and collections

Responsibilities:  

  • Support the identification of process improvement opportunities incl design and validation in the OTC process area. Act as proxy for GPL as necessary in meetings and key decisions and process design
  • Drive completion and update of relevant documentation such as SAP Process design Documents(PDD), Business process Desktop procedures (DTP) documentation, standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation and Business process procedures (BPP)
  • Oversee and govern the day-to-day OTC global operation and monitor Business process outsourcer ( BPO) SLAs.  Support the GPL in governing and collaborate with chosen outsourcers
  • Oversee the global processes SOX and financial policy compliance including approving GRC access requests and monthly SOX compliance review. Lead the SAP security and role set up and potential Segregation of duties resolutions .
  • Support prioritization of ERP enhancements and support resolutions of tickets with the SAP technical team, FSS , BPO, Center of Excellence and Affiliates
  • Deliver process efficiency and effectiveness within AbbVie’s business processes, working across functional domains and other process teams
  • Work directly with the Enterprise IT teams as the business owner of the OTC process area to provide overall business strategy, prioritize initiatives, sponsor process harmonization, and align technology support for business requirements
  • Will be supported by various enabling functions, i.e., Master Data, Training, Communication, Information Technology design
  • Achieve transparency and agility in our operations through enterprise wide KPIs and volumetrics
  • Lead a team of 2- 4 people

 


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting. MBA/CPA preferred.
  • 8 + years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience.
  • The ability to interact with and support senior level management and to partner effectively and independently in a matrix organization. Open to new ideas, creative and utilize value-added principles in approach
  • The ability to drive, influence and manage change. Proven project management expertise. Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills and ability to work independently. A highly motivated self-starter who can translate broad directions into high quality analytical output.
  • Extensive interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a high energy level. Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills and technical and content strategy skills.
  • The ability to manage and coordinate multiple activities and shifting priorities under tight timeframes. Controls experience; able to translate into operational results
  • 2 – 4 + years’ experience in leading significant financial operations (i.e., large commercial affiliate, area, or major operations organization)
  • Experience of governance structures with experience developing and implementing effective processes with appropriate levels of compliance across disparate organizations.
  • Ability to think strategically and understand details of complex process implications across functional and geographic domains, and internal and external providers.
  • The position will be based in Lake County, Chicago
