The Manager of Technical Programs heads an organization within PGS Andover Site Technical Services (STS) responsible for the ownership and administration of technical programs and the delivery of technical support essential to biopharmaceutical manufacturing and new product and technology introductions at PGS Andover manufacturing facilities.

The Manager of Technical Programs manages a team of scientists and engineers responsible for the development, maintenance, and administration of essential technical programs and associated technical support for GMP biopharmaceutical productions. Key aspects of these responsibilities are outlined as follows:

  • Owner of site technical programs governing or supporting the introduction and change management of raw materials, process aids, and single-use components for GMP manufacturing
  • Develop and maintain single-use component utilization strategy for GMP manufacturing at the Andover site
  • Primary site interface to Pfizer network and external industry consortium on single-use strategy and best practices
  • Technical programs supporting GMP manufacturing, process validation, and technology transfer including, but not limited to, the management of process-related impurities as well as the handling of process intermediate and drug substance
  • Owner of site implementation and deployment strategy for new/next generation technologies (Technology Roadmap) to deliver site/Pfizer priorities for product supply and new product introduction
  • Contribute to regulatory strategy, provide regulatory submission support, and interface with Boards of Health on technical issues supported by incumbent’s organization
  • Integrate environmental, health, and safety considerations into department work processes and promote safety culture among the work force
  • Contribute to the Andover site integrated business planning process
  • Actively engage in talent planning and colleague development for STS and the incumbent’s organization
  • The Manager of Technical Programs is a member of the Andover STS leadership team.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Science or Engineering
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry experience
  • Prior managerial and team leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge and/or experience in biologics drug substance R&D, testing, or manufacturing
  • Broad knowledge and/or industry experience in global regulatory requirements in the area of raw materials and single use component in biologic manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or build teams for complex technical projects involving risk management
  • Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization
