Global Blood Therapeutics (GBT) is seeking a talented individual to join its Human Resources team in South San Francisco, CA.

Position Summary:

The Analyst, HR Operations is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the daily operations of the Human Resources department in areas including, but not limited to, records management, HRIS/systems, benefits, onboarding, and administration. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage full cycle employee data management, including onboarding, organizational changes, compensation changes and off-boarding transactions in Workday.
  • Manage off-boarding process; create off-boarding packets and coordinate final paychecks with Payroll.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation scheduling and related communications to new hires.
  • Provide exceptional support to employees on various HR-related topics.
  • Process a variety of HR transactions in our HR system including promotions, personal data changes, job changes, new hire and termination information.
  • Partner with stakeholders in and beyond HR to improve processes.
  • Assist with reporting requests, data analysis and audits to meet business needs.
  • Provide support for other HR programs and projects, as needed.
  • Coordinate and balance multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.


  • BA or BS required
  • 5+ years of professional experience required with 2+ years of experience in Human Resources operational role preferred, handling confidential data with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong service orientation and a sense of urgency is required.  
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal and must have the ability to communicate effectively across all management and functional levels. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize urgent needs and meet deadlines. 
  • Able to work independently as well as with a team. 
  • Must be able to exercise discretion, sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy in all communications, due to the exposure to highly sensitive and confidential information.
