Manager Market Intelligence - Hybrid Role

HYBRID - This role is considered a hybrid position that is within a commutable driving distance to the Summit, New Jersey office to work onsite 1-2 days per week and attend occasional in person meetings / events as required.

Job Summary

The Manager, Market Intelligence is a part of the Commercial Development team, working with the Associate Director, Market Intelligence & Strategy. The Manager’s primary responsibilities include development and direction of a robust and integrated Market Intelligence Program to support Seqirus long term growth strategy, and support for other high-visibility, strategic projects within the organization. 

Major Responsibilities

• Under general direction, directs the Market Intelligence Program

• Working with senior management, build and evolve a global competitive intelligence knowledge warehouse with cross-functional insights (Commercial, Research, Clinical Development, Operations, Business Development, etc.) to inform inputs and key strategic intelligence questions

• Presents detailed analysis and insights in a manner that is easily interpreted and aids strategic and tactical decision making for BUs and senior management; deliver oral and written communications, develop and make presentations to commercial management, R&D, Finance, and other internal groups, as needed

• Support design and facilitation of market and competitive intelligence workshops for senior leadership across commercial and other functions to inform market decisions and future commercial development

• Integrate market and competitive intelligence into relevant commercial strategic planning processes (global brand plans, portfolio prioritization, etc.) to inform decision-making

• Manage collection and interpretation of market intelligence related to influenza and COVID-19 landscape, adjacencies, new opportunities, and key stakeholder groups to shape Seqirus long term growth strategy

• Manage ongoing development and evolution of key strategic intelligence questions by working across and beyond Commercial Development

• Identify new competitive intelligence gaps and address with conference coverage or special projects

• Manage external vendors related to market and competitive intelligence data collection

• Provides decision support for commercial assessments, product forecasting, brand planning, strategic planning, data modeling, scenario analysis and other planning efforts, in coordination with Commercial Development team

• Support commercial planning processes involved for Long-Range Plan, Competitive Intelligence, War Gaming and New Product workshops

• Keeps abreast of short and long-term market trends of relevance to existing and new products and continuously identify opportunities and gaps to feed into the organization’s strategic planning processes

• Ensure compliance to Procurement policies of external agencies, including Master Services Agreements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Life Science, Business/Marketing, or related field. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

• At least 5+ years working experience in the pharmaceutical, devices, or other health care industry

• Prefer working experience in strategy and / or commercial roles in the pharmaceutical, devices, or other health care industry

• Demonstrated analytics and effective project management skills

• Experience with platforms related to healthcare data and information management (for example, IMS, Sharepoint, etc.)

• Demonstrated self-starter with experience working in multi-functional teams

• Top tier healthcare consulting experience a plus

• Vaccines experience a plus

• Competitive Intelligence experience a plus
