GreenLight Biosciences is currently seeking an intelligent, analytical and experienced Sr. Mgr./Associate Director, FP&A to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in high level financial planning and analysis for company decision making. You will be involved in the process of Annual Budgeting, Quarterly reforecasting, Financial Analysis, consistently improving monthly financial and operational reporting, business partnering with functional Leads and financial analysis. Your analysis will assist within the overall effort to drive financial planning. You will serve as a financial liaison and dedicated business partner to functional leads via consistent constructive communication that will assist in enabling them to effectively manage their budgets, analyze their project expenses, KPI’s, and conduct effective budget to actual analysis.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Sr. Mgr./Associate Director of FP&A with a track record of adding value to the organization. The position requires a candidate with excellent attention to detail along with outstanding service-orientation, mature judgment, and independent problem-solving. S/he will be highly collaborative and humble, with a strong work ethic and capacity to exceed expectations in everything they do.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Owning the annual budgeting process, strategic planning decisions, and initiative prioritization
  • Assisting with long range strategic planning
  • Preparing quarterly forecasts based upon new developments, changes in assumptions, and business trends
  • Providing budget-to-actual variance analyses for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for the Company, as well as at functional and cost center levels
  • Developing, managing, and enhancing the business partnership with functional leads by becoming the point person (One stop shop) for all finance related inquiries from business partners.
  • Providing Finance leadership with synthesized data and portfolio insights that guide strategic business decision making with day-to-day operations, long-term planning and new initiatives.
  • Ownership of the finance calendar with business leadership teams to ensure business operations are aligned with all finance deliverables
  • Supporting company business development activities with financial modeling for strategic partnerships, collaboration programs and licensing activities
  • Develop, design, evolve, and publish periodic Sr. Executive reporting package, CFO Reporting package, Functional reporting package, KPIs and metric reporting to track results and identify trends
  • Identify risks around key spending areas and Implement controls to mitigate these risks
  • Continuously develop systems and processes. Evaluate current processes, identify best practices, develop plans to reach goals and implement improvements
  • Support ERP and other Finance systems implementations
  • Lead process initiatives to improve and automate forecasting and reporting tools
  • Frequent Ad Hoc analysis and special projects

IDEAL PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting with CPA and/or MBA, preferred
  • 10+ years' experience working in an FP&A capacity, including team building/managerial responsibilities
  • 3 years or more in Pharmaceuticals or life science company experience in an FP&A role
  • Strong, working knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts
  • Ability to anticipate issues, ensure data integrity and accuracy of details while being capable of higher-level interpretation and explanation
  • Demonstrated history of financial modeling with business partner mindset
  • Mission-driven, enthusiastic to learn and grow; team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence people at all levels of the organization and make actionable recommendations and follow through on execution
  • Ability to take charge of complex projects with minimal direction and develop new strategies of approaching business challenges, independently
  • Demonstrated problem solving techniques and analytical skills
  • Prior experience in a startup, fast growth company with understanding of how to scale business systems is a plus
  • Experience operating with candid transparency, professionalism, strong emotional intelligence, and the highest degree of integrity
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills. Proven ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team and take on new tasks as needed
  • Expert-level MS Excel skills or other data manipulation software
  • Expert-level MS PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with ERP systems such as MS Dynamics 365 and Planning and Forecasting systems such as Adaptive insights preferred.
