The individual will be involved in basic research studies designed to understand the biology behind various neurodegenerative diseases, such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis We are looking for someone who can execute both cell-based and in vivo assays to support the characterization and evaluation of novel disease models and use them as a preliminary system to evaluate potential therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases.
In this role a typical day might include:
Developing and characterizing novel cellular and animal models to better understand the mechanisms of neurodegeneration and to test novel therapeutics
Designing and executing cell-based assays, and/or other novel technologies to better understand the mechanisms of neurodegeneration
Immunohistochemical and biochemical analyses of cell and animal models of neurodegenerative diseases
Analyzing and evaluating data
Presenting data both internally and externally, and participating in discussions in our collaborative, cross-functional team environment
