What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be a key member of the U.S. Value & Access organization responsible for engaging with subject matter experts and business unit leadership for the development and completion of the pricing and payer coverage contracting strategy. The Senior Manager will own the qualitative and quantitative pricing/contracting analyses to support the payor contacting strategy across Amgens bone portfolio (Prolia and EVENITY) & AVSOLA.

In this role, you will also collaborate with finance to estimate the overall contracting impact on sales volume goals, discount rates, ASP and long term planning.

The Senior Manager will also work with our field based Market Access team to engage customers in the regional markets to present contract offerings across the three products to gain coverage that aligns with each brands coverage goals.

This is a highly cross functional role and will require interacting with the Value Strategy & Marketing, Patient Access, Ecosystems & Insights, Sales, Brand Marketing, Government Affairs, Trade & Distribution, Business Unit Leadership, Finance, Accounting, and Legal.

Will require a strong foundation in the U.S. healthcare market and is a good avenue to many future commercial healthcare roles. Amgen has strong training, education, and mentoring programs to ensure staff are successful.

  • Lead Coverage & Pricing strategic planning, quarterly business reviews, and forecasts
  • Lead pricing and contracting scenarios, contract decisions, LEDR and LRS management
  • Constructively challenge teams by providing disconfirming information and encouraging innovative problem solving
  • Track Market Access payer coverage/POA goals and support dashboard activities
  • Routinely interact with senior leadership and other high-level, cross functional committees or teams
  • Engage with regional IDNs and payor customers with the Market Access team and present contract offerings.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with collaborators; actively seeks buy-in and provides ongoing support to address business needs
  • Ensure alignment in strategy and execution of the plan with cross-functional teams including Brand, Medical, Patient Access, Value Marketing, GHE, Trade, and Policy

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate's degree and 2 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations

Or

Masters degree and 4 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations

Or

Bachelors degree and 6years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations

Or

Associates degree and 10 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in either sales, marketing, contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, analytics, healthcare, or sales operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in contracts and pricing, direct payor experience or value marketing and have a good foundational understanding of the US payor environment.
  • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution.
  • Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles
  • Experience navigating the evolving U.S. healthcare system with specific interest on the interactions between Government and Healthcare.
  • Exceptional written/oral communication skills and executive presence across functions and across different levels of leadership
