Associate Data Engineer - Enterprise Data & Analytics


What you will do

In this vital role you will be an integral part of the Data & Analytics Platform (EDAP) teams mission is to empower staff to make faster decisions through impactful data. The EDAP team builds custom solutions and integrates with ground breaking commercial products so that Amgens data science and analytics teams can securely find, access and bring to bear high quality data in a flawless user experience.

  • Design, implement and support data infrastructure to support Amgens broad data needs and challenges
  • Learn and explore the latest technologies in machine learning, big data and analytics
  • Develop pipelines and integrations with commercial products and services such as Databricks, Tableau and AWS
  • Build systems that extract, load and transform data using cutting-edge and cloud-native technologies
  • Write unit tests, integration tests and regression tests while using test-driven development
  • Focus on automation, DevOps and CI/CD standard methodologies
  • Contribute documentation for the team and for clients
  • Collaborate with Amgen scientists, engineers, technologists, data scientists and analysts in order to understand and develop solutions for their data needs
  • Participate in Agile development ceremonies and practices
  • Provide solutions and influence product direction
  • Learn about the biotech/pharmaceutical industry from drug discovery to manufacturing

Bachelors degree OR

Associates degree & 4 years of Information Science experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Experience with Python, Java or other object-oriented programming language
  • Experience with or a desire to learn automation, DevOps and CI/CD best practices
  • A desire to learn and support machine learning, big data and analytics at Amgen
