Job Summary

The R&D team at Biological Dynamics creates and improves the underlying technology for our cutting edge liquid biopsy platform. We are using this platform to detect biomarkers related to oncological, infectious and neurological diseases. Our platform is a vertically integrated system that allows for the interrogation of biological materials without sample preprocessing.

We are seeking a chemist, chemical engineer, or a person with a similar background to support our polymer chemistry R&D efforts. This is a hands‐on role, requiring an individual capable of aiding in the development of new chemistries for semiconductor and polymer interactions at solid/liquid interface.

The candidate must be able to efficiently execute experiments and communicate results and observations effectively. As part of a team, the candidate must be comfortable working in a team setting and interacting with peers. This individual must exhibit expertise in polymer chemistry, polymer surface chemistry and material sciences preferably in an industrial setting. Special emphasis is placed on flexibility, goal-oriented mindset, and the ability to think creatively to meet project timelines.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Develop and formulate of surface coatings for semiconductor devices.
  • Identify opportunities for establishing intellectual property advancements.
  • Evaluate formulations for manufacturability.
  • Strong organization and time management skill.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and welcomes a hands-on approach.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effectively troubleshoot workflows and experiments on a proactive basis.
  • Aid in the design, execution, and analysis of studies.
  • Systematically optimize methods for repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams, including Research, Product Development, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing, in support of project objectives.
  • Adept at building relationships and collaborating with colleagues at all levels.
  • Provide insight to achieving project goals.
  • Effectively communicate experimental findings at internal company meetings and in other formats as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferably BS Chemistry or similar) and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to perform hands-on experiments in the following area: chemical reactions, polymer chemistry, and/or chemical processes.
  • Experience with surface polymerization is highly recommended.
  • Laboratory experience and wet bench experience required.
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques is a must.
  • Demonstration of strong, independent problem-solving capability.
  • Desire and drive to work in a fast-paced, hands-on entrepreneurial environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborations with colleagues at all levels.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership regarding project deliverables
