Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting advances in influenza vaccines through characterizing immune responses to differentiate novel influenza vaccines from current vaccines. The position will contribute to development of novel assays, in addition to performing, analyzing, and reporting results generated by existing assays.  The ideal candidate would be engaged, teachable, and collaborative.

Major Responsibilities

  • Conduct and optimize existing assays for both preclinical and clinical testing of immune responses to novel influenza vaccine candidates. Work as part of a team to perform assay development of new cell-based assays and immunoassays.
  • Participate as key member of the immunology team.
  • Provide support to other team members as needed. 
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities in good order.
  • Observe HSE regulations and best practices.
  • Write experimental protocols and prepare internal.  Maintain lab notebook.
  • Prepare and present data in the context of the overall project at cross-functional meetings.
  • Work and communicate effectively with others within and across functions

Minimum Requirements

  • BS/MS in relevant immunology and biology fields or equivalent discipline with 0-1+ years’ experience in biotech industry or academic research institute.
  • Experience with one of following skills is required: flow cytometry, primary cell culture, cell-based assays, handling of human and animal source material
  • Ability to design, execute, analyze, and interpret data in a timely manner with guidance and supervision.
  • Good demonstration of time and resource management, communication, and teamwork
  • Ability to generate written reports, present data at cross-functional internal meetings
  • Software skills: GraphPad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint, FlowJo

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiarity with biosafety procedures for levels BSL-2 is preferred
  • Familiarity with human and laboratory animal immune systems and assay methods is preferred
