Lab Aide

Gladstone seeks a laboratory aide to provide broad support within the Center for Systems and  Therapeutics at Gladstone Institutes. Duties include cleaning/autoclaving of glassware; prep of reagents  and plates according to protocols supplied by lab and/or scientists; biohazard/chemical/radioactive  waste handling according to OSHA standards; monitoring/recordkeeping of radioactive exposure levels;  maintain tissue culture facilities including autoclaving incubators and cleaning tissue culture hoods;  conference room set up; maintenance of lab inventory and supplies; general lab housekeeping and  equipment maintenance.

Qualifications 

Applicants must have basic laboratory experience and familiarity with scientific laboratory equipment,  EH&S regulations, handling of waste (medical; hazardous; radioactive). Some light to moderate lifting is  required, and the ability to safely handle biohazardous materials is required. 1-2 year's related  experience, preferred. High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
