The Impact You’ll Make

Working alongside Recursions Automation Support Specialists you will work on projects designed to:

  • Discover the root causes of complex electromechanical problems in the laboratory 
  • Improve the performance of our laboratory instrumentation through careful repair and calibration
  • Learn about the details of industrial laboratory processes to better troubleshoot and repair instrumentation
  • Experience the operational tempo of a High Throughput Screening laboratory 

The Team You’ll Join 

This position is within Recursion’s Automation and Information Management Team within the Technology organization. This team's mission is to automate the physical and data workflows within the laboratories that drive our drug discovery engine. Through automation we improve the quality, speed, and scale of our data generation systems. We are responsible for the implementation, continuous improvement, and maintenance of a fleet of automated work cells supported by cutting edge equipment and a great team. As a support intern you will work alongside our Automation Support Specialists as they ensure our laboratory systems are operating in peak condition, troubleshoot complex instrumentation and work with technicians and scientists to get the most from our laboratories. You will gain invaluable experience in the field of robotics and laboratory automation service and support.  

The Experience You’ll Need

  • Excitement for Recursion’s mission of Decoding Biology to Radically Improve Lives
  • A strong desire to learn with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the principles of basic troubleshooting relating to complex electronic, mechanical, or electromechanical systems
  • Experience with basic hand tools
  • Fundamental coursework in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic and Computer Technology, Biotechnology, or similar, or equivalent real world experience (military or industry)
