Job Summary

The Immunology group is looking for a lab leader who is highly motivated and a seasoned immunologist with experience in human immunology to lead our expanding efforts in discovering novel therapies targeting immune systems to treat diseases. The successful candidate will report to the VP of immunology and be a self-starter who thrives in a highly collaborative and fast paced environment. Applicants should have a demonstrated and ongoing record of research excellence with a focus that includes basic and/or translational studies on investigating immune responses in human diseases.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and in-license bioinformatics tools to analyze and visualize complex datasets.
  • Use appropriate statistical methods to aid in triaging potential targets.
  • Work collaboratively with team members, colleagues and collaborators.
  • Apply AI/ML methods to evaluate genomic, transcriptomic and proteomics datasets.
  • Represent Innovent at conferences and present appropriate results for publications and patent applications
  • Oversee a vigorous and innovative research program to progress antibody or other modality based therapies to the clinic
  • Explore new pathways and targets in relevant disease areas and develop proposals for potential new targets based on a combination of literature and internal data sets
  • Lead and mentor a team of direct reports at both scientific and technical levels
  • Work closely and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, prioritizing activities and resources to ensure timeline adherence and project alignment with company goals
  • Identify strategic external partners and CROs to advance Innovent’s mission.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. with 0-2 years of experience or M.S. with at least 5 years of experience working in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical company environment
  • Must be possess excellent communication skills and be able to present complex concepts to an audience of varying expertise
  • Must have good leadership and mentoring skills
  • Must have good knowledge of signaling pathways and networks in oncology
  • Experiences developing relevant immunological assays for drug development. Past participation in drug discovery is a plus
  • Experience in various in vitro cell based assays, including cell culture, ELISA, multi-color flow cytometry is required
  • Capability of multitasking and keen awareness of timeliness in work handling and delivery
  • Good communication skills and function efficiently in a work environment that embraces diversity
  • High ethics standard and level of integrity. Commitment to work and corporate goals that will ultimately contribute to patient well-being.
  • Ph.D. and/or MD in a relevant scientific field. More than five years’ post-graduate basic and/or preclinical immunology research experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts, and practices in the fields of immunology. Prior scientific expertise in drug discovery is highly desirable but not required
  • Must have experience working with human primary cells and establishing disease relevant assays
  • Must be possess excellent communication skills and be able to present complex concepts to an audience of varying expertise
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and leadership skill sets
  • Track record of excellence supported by high impact, peer-reviewed publications in the field of immunology.
