We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to our join our In Vivo Team, Platform Program. This position will report to the Scientist II, Platform Program. The RA/RAII will be part of the team responsible for testing polymer nanoparticles for tissue and cell-type delivery of genetic payloads in vivo. Duties will include performing in-life studies (injection, monitoring, imaging, general rodent care) to determine tissue distribution of polymer nanoparticle delivered RNA cargos, necropsy and tissue harvests, and in vitro analysis of tissues and cells under the direction of the Scientist II. Additional duties and responsibilities may be required as needed. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative, resourceful, and effective team-player who is enthusiastic about tackling challenging complex scientific and technical problems with novel approaches and solutions. This position will work in collaboration with the Chemistry, Formulation, Histology, and CNS Program In Vivo Studies teams to identify and select candidate polymer nanoparticles for further therapeutic development.

Responsibilities

    • Project(s): The RA/RA II will perform all required duties assigned by the Scientist to complete the milestones and goals of the project(s) outlined in the overall company and program goals.
    • Collaboration: Under the direction of the Scientist, the RA/RA II will work cooperatively with peers and multidisciplinary teams, keep detailed and organized lab records, and present results at team meetings.
    • Communication: The RA/RA II will present data and analysis to the In Vivo Team, group meeting, and project team meetings, as needed.

Education and Qualifications

    • B.S. or M.S. or equivalent in a relevant life science field
    • At least 2 years of  academic/biotech/pharma research experience with designing and executing in vivo studies in rodents.
    • Proficiency with rodent handling including but not limited to intravenous administration of test articles, blood collection, tissue perfusion and harvest, bone marrow harvest, tissue dissociation to generate single cell suspension,  and necropsy.
    • Knowledge and working experience with flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, qPCR, Western blots, and related molecular methods a plus.
    • Experience in gene therapy and/or genetic medicines is a plus.
    • Work authorization in the US is required.
