Position Summary:

The Senior Director/Director of Commercial Planning and Analytics will drive strategic decision-making by delivering thoughtful, objective, and timely insights about Allakos markets of interest to senior leadership. They will lead analysis of key customers, growth opportunities, and market drivers and barriers and identify and recommend opportunities to address them. They will identify knowledge gaps and solve for them by leading primary and secondary market research. They will develop and manage long-range and launch-phase patient flow demand forecasts for Allakos products across indications of interest based on an in-depth understanding of internal and market factors. The successful candidate will be able to collect and synthesize data and identify actionable insights and implications to the business. This role will support the commercial launch of lirentelimab, a first-in-class monoclonal antibody in development for the treatment of eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs) and other allergic and inflammatory conditions.

The successful individual in this role will be a Commercial leader with direct experience in multiple areas of market planning, including primary market research, demand forecasting, competitive intelligence, secondary data analytics. They will oversee the design and execution of market research and analytics projects and will lead the analysis and interpretation of the results to guide data-driven decision making. This person must have the ability to see the bigger picture and provide the “so-what” analysis to identify strategic business implications. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, lead a team of high-performing market planning personnel, and lead and influence cross-functionally.

Your Role:

  • Master understanding of target markets by rapidly acquiring HCP, patient, and payer insights to inform unmet needs analysis and future market value drivers
  • Support commercial decision-making, strategy development, and tactical planning by delivering concise, objective insights and recommendations about the marketplace and key stakeholders
  • Provide an objective market viewpoint based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of customer and environmental information
  • Identify gaps in internal understanding of target markets and customers and develop creative strategies to address gaps through primary and secondary market research
  • Lead the development and maintenance of patient-flow demand forecast models, both for long-range planning and for in-line/launch-phase indications
  • Lead a team to develop and execute primary market research, secondary data analytics, and competitive intelligence to inform business strategies, tactics, and decisions
  • Successfully oversee research plans, methods, and budgets
  • Build and lead a team of market planning professionals

Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MS, PhD or MBA) a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in market planning and analytics in biotech / pharma
  • Commercial launch experience required; experience launching a buy-and-bill (Medical Benefit) drug preferred
  • Ability to collect, synthesize, and present data to leadership and across the organization
  • Adept at identifying actionable trends and insights in data and articulating the strategic implications to the business
  • Lead by example and model collaborative behavior by soliciting opinions but also able to make key decisions and effectively get the team behind the decisions
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and management skills with an ability to excel in a dynamic, growing business environment
  • Exceptional inter-personal, communication, and presentation skills (both oral and written) with the ability to interact with colleagues and partners, both technical and non-technical, at all levels of experience
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
  • Track record of leading high-functioning and collaborative teams

This position is office-based and may require 25-30% travel to attend meetings and other events.

 The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
