Essential Duties and Job Functions:

In this laboratory-based role, the successful candidate will lead discovery and engineering efforts to generate novel protein therapeutics. They should have a strong knowledge of antibody structure/function relationships, with experience in library design and construction, engineering of new protein therapeutic modalities and experience with phage, yeast or ribosome display technologies. The successful candidate will support antibody discovery, lead optimization, and lead characterization across therapeutic areas. Additional job requirements:
  • Work cross-functionally to carry out antibody discovery, engineering, and lead optimization campaigns
  • Independently design experiments to characterize the binding and functional properties of novel antibodies
  • Self-motivated multitasker with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must have excellent presentation skills with an ability to communicate ideas and experimental findings to diverse audiences
  • Organize and execute multiple projects in a collaborative team environment


Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

Minimum Bachelor's with + 5 years or a Master's with 3 years in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field. Job title is flexible based on experience. An ideal candidate will have experience in most of the following areas:
  • Strong background in molecular biology with experience in library design and construction
  • Hands-on experience in antibody discovery or affinity maturation using at least one display technology (e.g. phage, yeast, ribosome or mammalian display)
  • Knowledge of antibody sequence/structure function relationships and prior experience analyzing sequences and hit picking from discovery campaigns
  • Experience designing novel antibody/fusion protein constructs
  • Experience with biochemical assays and quantitative analysis of protein-protein binding interactions (e.g. FACS, ELISA, Octet)
  • Familiarity with protein expression and purification is a plus
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-based functional assays (e.g. signaling/reporter assays, killing assays, FACS binding, etc) is a plus
