Summary Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Program Management professional to join the program management team at Myovant.  The Director, Program Management is a key member of the organization that will partner with an internal team lead to advance our global drug development programs.  The ideal candidate is one who understands the drug development process and interdependencies, is experienced in creating and driving the execution of integrated project plans and has a strong track record of managing cross-functional development teams across the product lifecycle.  This role will be instrumental in monitoring and tracking team deliverables, driving team performance and communication, and ensuring stakeholder alignment on plans, goals, and timelines.  The Director, Program Management is expected to apply project management best practices in the development, planning, initiation, execution, control, and closing of projects.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Key responsibilities include managing complex, drug development programs, driving cross-functional planning, communication and decision making, and ensuring alignment with internal functional groups and development leadership.
  • Facilitates cross-functional team meetings, documenting product development team meetings, follow-up on action items. Internal development team meeting management as well as meetings with alliance partners in scope, depending on the program.
  • Leads the team’s development of high-quality integrated product development plans.
  • Develops and maintains functionally integrated project schedules to enable accurate project analyses, identification of critical path activities, and areas of resource constraint
  • Manages risk mitigation planning and tracking; Escalates critical issues and delays to leadership with a plan-of-action to address
  • Tracks progress against approved program plans; produces timely and accurate status updates both formally and informally
  • Builds and maintains a positive and dynamic working relationship with the team leader, team members, other internal stakeholders, and vendors
  • Communicates team accomplishments and shares learnings to the broader program teams.
  • Works to ensure that program and project management best practices are being employed across program and its associated sub- teams.
  • Supports Financial Planning & Analysis in developing, tracking, and managing budgets and by identifying budgetary impacts of strategic and critical issues
  • Manages the program team collaboration site and program information materials
  • Contribute to the success of the Program Management Department by onboarding new department members, sharing best practices and participating in development of new department processes and tools
  • Other duties as assigned or required

  • Must have solid understanding of the drug development process, including strategic and operational aspects of late-stage (Ph 2- Ph 3) development and regulatory requirements
  • Broad knowledge of, and experience implementing, project management best practices in the pharmaceutical industry to guide cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to take independent ownership of agreed tasks, projects and initiatives.
  • Strong skills with project management systems, such as MS Project and Smartsheet

REQUIREMENTS (Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Professional qualification in project management such as PMP certification preferred
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years industry experience within the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or other Healthcare related field
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a Program Management role managing and/or leading cross-functional teams within drug development.
