Overview:          

The Analytical Sciences Function within Analytical and Translational Sciences develops, qualifies, and runs analytical methods to characterize protein structure, purity and quality and support regulatory filings.

We are looking for a Scientist/Sr. Scientist who develops and utilizes biochemical and biophysical methodologies to characterize physicochemical properties of biotherapeutics. This individual will evaluate and implement a range of biophysical and biochemical methods, analyze and present data, and interact with contract labs. S/he will manage timelines and resources to meet project and functional goals.

This will involve laboratory work, the use of automation systems and various biophysical and biochemical instruments, and participation in compliance and safety related activities. This individual may be responsible for writing technical reports and/or sections of regulatory filings related to the bioanalytical characterization work. This individual may also be involved with the assessment and implementation of new Technologies.

Experience, Education, Training, Traits:

  • A Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, or a related field or an MS with at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Background knowledge and practical experience in developing bioanalytical methods for protein therapeutics, along with a proven track record of productivity, problems solving skills are essential.
  • A strong technical background that includes extensive laboratory experience in biophysical and biochemical characterization (e.g. , HPLC, CE., MFI, light scattering , CD, FTIR, fluorescence, SEC-MALS, AUC and SPR) is required.
  • Familiarity with standard word, excel, graphic, and presentation software is required, and familiarity with database/data archival software systems is helpful.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
