The HR Coordinator/Immigration Specialist is a dual role, supporting both Immigration administration and the HR Business Partner team. This position is responsible for supporting candidates and employees through the immigration process–as well as providing HR support. This is a new role, and therefore has scope for individual creativity and strong administrative/organizational skills

Role Responsibilities: 
  • Coordinate and work with the appropriate bodies to obtain necessary work permits and diarize for renewals as required 
  • Serve as a resource on routine and complex visa matters, provide guidance, assistance, and support to management, supervisors, and administrators
  • Act as immigration resource to Foreign Nationals, assisting and responding to questions regarding immigration regulations, required forms, Premier Research processes, etc. 
  • Liaison between foreign national, Visa Services, sponsoring departments and other related entities. 
  • Complete web forms, obtain required documentation, review all paperwork received. 
  • Check for accuracy and compliance throughout the process to ensure process meets regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordinate, process, and manage new hires, including I-9 verification and submission.
  • Obtain and verify necessary documentation.
  • Manage relationship with outside immigration counsel to ensure adherence to compliance, service level standards, and communication.
  • Support any legal issues and preparation for cases as required 
  • Maintain personnel files, HR databases and data input on other business processes 
  • Ensure compliance of all International HR records to legal and Best Practice standards 
  • Liaise with the recruitment Team to ensure freelance/contractor information is up to date and act as a prompt when contracts are due to expire 
  • Ensure HR and businesses processes and procedures are kept up to date; data integrity is accurate and complete
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources or other related field is desirable.
  • Minimum 2 years HR administrator/coordinator experience
  • Experience supporting immigration needs within a corporate or legal environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills a must
