At DICE Therapeutics, we design and develop innovative therapies in immunology for patients with debilitating disease. Seeking to create a future where convenient oral medicines with biologic-like efficacy are available to patients with serious medical conditions, we are developing oral alternatives to medicines currently limited to injectable forms.

 

We have an open position to head a growing in vitro pharmacology team. This group conceptualizes, develops, and runs a variety of biochemical and cell-based assay formats in support of our small molecule drug discovery efforts. Furthermore, the head of this group coordinates lab space utilization and organization and coordinates outsourcing efforts when appropriate. As a member of the research leadership team, this individual has deep insight into and influence over all research related decisions.

 

Essential Functions:

 

This individual not only leads the day-to-day operations of the in vitro pharmacology group at DICE Therapeutics, but also leads its growth both in terms of hiring as well as implementation of new techniques and technologies. Key responsibilities associated with this role include the following

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·      Lead the implementation of novel and existing assay formats, techniques and technologies tailored to the projects DICE is focused on

·      Oversee all aspects of assay conceptualization, development, and execution in support of our small molecule efforts

·      Mentor and manage a team of currently 4 FTE(growing) in all areas of assay development and execution.

·      When appropriate, accomplish results through outsourcing efforts

·      Manage lab supply, space, and FTE resources on a daily basis and project resource utilization for planning purposes as circumstances warrant.

·      Actively participate in research leadership efforts to define new projects and ensure the smooth operation of existing projects.

 

Preferred Experience and Education:

 

Knowledge/Education:

The successful candidate holds a PhD degree in biochemistry or a related field and has 6-12 years of industry experience in a small molecule drug development environment. They are an accomplished in vitro pharmacologist with substantial hands-on experience who troubleshoots biochemical and cell-based assays with ease, and who also has extensive experience with lab automation, liquid handling systems and compound databases. Keen attention to detail and a proclivity to think quantitatively are required for success in this role. Furthermore, this individual is an outstanding communicator and a proven manager with strong interpersonal skills. Finally, they have a demonstrated record of accomplishment in the form of publications, patents, or other quantifiable contributions to drug development.

 

Current US work authorization and proof of COVID-19vaccination are required.
