The Director, Hospital and Health Systems Strategy and Market Development is responsible for creating an overarching Hospital and Health Systems strategy for the Lundbeck Neurology Business Unit by defining the optimal engagement strategy, business objectives, team structure and performance metrics. This individual will build a team to support defined objectives as well as building relationships with key external stakeholders and lead cross functional initiatives and education within Lundbeck to ensure patient access  adherence and make a positive impact on patients affected by Neurological conditions within the Lundbeck Neurology portfolio. This position will meet the need for coordinated visibility and strategic guidance across academic medical centers, advanced health systems, IDN’s, and GPO’s, and Key Accounts.  The incumbent will identify and lead strategic partnership and business development opportunities for immediate business impact, along with pursuing future growth opportunities and partnerships. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement overarching Hospital and Health Systems strategy for Lundbeck Neurology Business Unit, including identification and prioritization of Hospital, Health Systems, and IDNs
  • Build, train, lead and develop a Key Account Manager (KAM) team to support strategic Hospital Initiatives and meet business objectives
  • Develop Key Performance Metrics and tracking  
  • Develop and implement innovative strategic initiatives within Hospitals and Health Systems to enhance commercial sales opportunities across the Lundbeck Neurology portfolio of products
  • Effectively collaborates cross functionally with leadership throughout Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Medical, Market Access, Legal, and Compliance
  • Develop and oversee coordination of company wide initiatives related to academic medical centers, advanced health systems, IDN’s and Key Accounts
  • Accountable for evaluation and dissemination of geographic trends and implications of  Hospital, Health Systems and IDNs as they relate to business goals
  • Provide short and long range forecasting associated with health system partnership opportunities across portfolio of products
  • Participate in sales meetings and industry conferences to increase market knowledge, develop new relationships, and identify new business opportunities

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • Accredited Bachelors Degree
  • 10+ years of Commercial experience (i.e. sales, marketing, market access, sales operations)
  • 6+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Hospital Account Management, Sales Management, Population Health Management, Key Account Management, and/or Health System Market Development within Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry
  • Previous commercial experience with a biologic infusion product
  • Previous experience in Neurology
  • Ability to lead and influence in a matrix organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and highly collaborative
  • Ability to cultivate strong internal/external network
  • Strong operational skills; proven ability to lead large complex projects and ensure timely delivery
  • Effective stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
  • Experience developing annual business plans and measurement criteria
  • Knowledge of compliance and legal guidelines and trends relating to commercialization of biologic infusions and other health care related current events

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Accredited MBA or Masters Degree
  • Launch Experience
  • Previous Migraine experience
  • Previous Marketing, Market Access or Patient Services experience

 

TRAVEL

  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 50% domestically; international travel may be required

 

The range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado and Connecticut, if selected for this role, and may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $185,000 - $225,000 and eligibility for a 25% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentive plan.
