The Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is at the core of our research and clinical lab processing. It is both the system of record and the user interface for our operations. As Grail transitions from a research organization to a research and commercial organization with the launch of our groundbreaking Galleri product, evolving and scaling our LIMS is on the critical path for getting our discovery to patients.
As the Lab Software Manager LIMS you will help evolve our LIMS system from supporting Grail’s early research needs to a high efficiency production system that can support millions of samples a year. Leading this evolution, not rewrite, is a critical project for Grail as we stay ahead of our rapidly growing sample volumes.
You Will Be:

• Digging into the code and working in the trenches with the team.
• Lead a team of highly motivated software engineers focused on delivering on Grail’s mission.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners such as Ops leaders, Quality/Regulatory authorities, Development Scientists, and Automation engineers, to help establish how software can help solve complex business problems.
• Delivering software systems to production that both meet Grail’s short term needs as we rapidly scale, but also lay the foundation for new products in the future.
• Mentoring high potential software engineers helping them to increase their findings and rapidly grow in their careers.

Your Background Includes:

• At least 2+ years experience as a software manager within a larger software team.
• Knowledge of data intensive application and scaling real-time relational systems.
• Strong ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (Operations, Research, Automation…) and deliver on complex domain problems.
• Experience with AWS and microservice architecture.
• Experience evolving production systems in a rapidly scaling environment.
• Ability to understand complex regulatory environments and run software development processes that rapidly build and deliver code into production with the constraints.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in React Redux
• Experience with Golang
