JOB SUMMARY 

The Laboratory Technician is a hands-on role tasked with experimental work, data acquisition and basic analysis that underlie the development of the Companys technology programs, i.e. DNA/Protein visualization. Perform study-related clinical procedures according to the study protocol. In addition, this position participates in the design of highly robust assays that support the development of RUO products.

 

This shift will be a second shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:30pm). 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Demonstrate proficiency at performing routine clinical procedures such as DNA/EV elutions, set up ELISA biomarker plates operate Luminex analyzer (Quantification of Exosome Proteins) , NTA, Qubit and/or Bioanalyzer protein contamination technique, PCR, column concentration, and specimen preparation.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of designated lab instrumentation and equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in documenting observations and study procedures correctly and legibly in the source document. Ensures that all data is recorded accurately and completely.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in department’s established safety protocols.
  • Provide general laboratory support functions (stock solution and buffer preps, aliquoting and labeling, lab organization and cleaning) to scientists and management.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and huddles to discuss ongoing projects and progress.
  • Ability to learn and execute new experimental procedures with accuracy and efficiency in accordance to SOP/Work Instructions.
  • Ability to produce valid data and analyze results before submitting them to scientists for final review.
  • Maintains a detailed notebook of experimental designs and results and communicates these results with recommendations for next steps to the team and cross-functionally as needed.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and different shifts when requested by management
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field with 0-2 years’ work experience in a laboratory (medical device, biotechnology or clinical laboratory).
  • Theoretical and hands-on knowledge of common laboratory techniques and ability to work with variety of moderate to high complexity research equipment.
  • Experience working in high pace laboratory production environment preferred
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform serial dilutions and basic computations
  • Maintain positive attitude and Teamwork.
  • Multitasking and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Familiar with MS Office, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills a plus.
  • Familiarity with using database, or LIMS/LIS.
