Purpose:

The Associate Director, Finance - Venclexta will report to the US Oncology Controller. The primary objective of this position is to provide financial leadership and business support for the Venclexta brand within the Oncology franchise and to develop accurate/timely P&L projections for all Plan, Update, LBE, LRP, and Actual submissions including key plus/minus items. The individual builds and maintains knowledge of the business through close communication across a variety of cross-functional partners including Executives, Marketing & Sales Management, Market Access, Marketing Analytics and Business Insights and Commercial Finance. In addition, this position is responsible for coaching and developing staff. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for all P&L line items (sales, cost of sales, SG&A) working closely with the sales forecasters and brand teams to understand brand strategies, market dynamics, and the competitive marketplace
  • Review and confirm accurate monthly/quarterly actual P&L results
  • Ensure financial deliverables across Plan, Update, LBE, LRP, Portfolio and Actual submissions and provide a clear, concise and strategic narrative for Executive level review and approval
  • Build and manage strong cross-functional relationships across procurement, market access, brand teams and finance
  • Build relationships with collaboration partner Genentech, and support all requirements of the collaboration in coordination with the Alliance Management finance team
  • Provide insights to Venclexta total brand P&L profile, inclusive of collaboration partner spending to support investment decisions
  • Lead ad-hoc analytical support on various business needs
  • Seek opportunities to drive innovation and continuous improvement by leveraging best practices and introducing new ways to improve efficiency and agility
  • Coach and develop staff

Qualifications

Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Preferred: MBA in Accounting or Finance and/or CPA/CMA
  • 7-10 years accounting or finance experience.
  • Preferred: US/global pharma commercial experience
  • This position requires an individual with the ability and desire to:
  • proactively search out and evaluate business problems and opportunities
  • ability to solve business problems through the proactive identification of issues and subsequent collection, analysis and interpretation of related data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred: Solid understanding of automated accounting systems such as TM1, desktop productivity and mainframe accounting applications
  • Strong time management and project management skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • Strong people development and coaching skills to attract and retain a team of highly motivated professionals.
