Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for driving best-in-class executive recruiting for Amgen. You will be leading internal and external recruitment efforts for executive level positions. Reporting to the Global Executive Search Lead, the Executive Recruiter plays a key role in developing and delivering strategic executive recruitment services to ensure Amgen is positioned to attract and recruit exceptional talent.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as talent advisor and subject matter expert on the best strategy to utilize for active requisitions; if a search firm is necessary, make firm recommendations, drive excellence and accountability of results to ensure diverse candidate slates and maximum return on investment

  • Conduct internal and external interviews which include screening for technical skills, required competencies as well as Amgen values and leadership attributes

  • Manage global executive searches when applicable, being mindful of local governance and processes

  • Focus and lead Diversity initiatives throughout the entire recruitment process

  • Educate candidates on the needs and scope of the position as well as influence passive candidates to engage in the interview process with Amgen

  • Build and manage relationships with executive level staff and hiring managers, HR partners including Compensation, Mobility, DI&B to partner in a cohesive and collaborative way

  • Prepare and present executive compensation packages

  • Analyze data and market trends that will impact Amgens executive recruiting capability

  • Partner with executive level business leaders and HR to create and drive proactive recruiting strategies for both current positions as well as anticipated future needs

  • Ensure alignment of recruiting activities with business goals and objectives balancing speed with attention to detail and ensuring the best outcome

  • Provide a high-touch experience for executive level candidates and hiring managers so that the recruitment processes from sourcing, selection to onboarding are seamless and engaging

  • Partner with the Global Executive Search Lead and team to help create, implement and drive strategies to build and improve Amgens executive recruiting capability

  • Seek out and introduce new innovative approaches and cutting-edge executive recruitment practices while staying abreast of industry trends and talent dynamics

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree & 2 years of executive recruitment experience OR

  • Masters degree & 4 years of executive recruitment experience OR

  • Bachelors degree & 6 years of executive recruitment experience OR

  • Associates degree & 10 years of executive recruitment experience OR

  • High school diploma / GED & 12 years of executive recruitment experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree

  • This is a work from home, remote based role. Candidates can be located anywhere in the Unites States but are asked to accommodate/flex to the Pacific time zone as Amgen is based in California

  • Minimum of 10 years executive recruiting experience ideally in an inhouse role and a retained executive search firm

  • Minimum 5 years executive recruiting for a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company or executive search firm specifically in R&D and Operations/Manufacturing functions

  • Experience managing search firms and end to end executive recruitment processes

  • Experience working with executive search team members in research, sourcing or scouting

  • Experience structuring, negotiating and delivering complex executive offers

  • Emotional IQ, analytical skills and the ability to think proactively and strategically

  • Process and project management experience, organization and relationship building skills

  • Executive communication and presentation skills with the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, confident and articulate manner

  • Experience delivering results by driving innovation and exhibiting subject matter expertise to influence decision makers and others involved in the hiring process

  • Self-motivated, integrity and work ethic, resourceful and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple, competing and dynamic priorities

  • Exercises discretion, high level of confidentiality and ability to work independently/lean in, lead when necessary
