ROLE SUMMARY

The Business Analyst will support the BTx Pharmaceutical Sciences effort to deliver effective, efficient, and scalable technology solutions for the development of biological therapeutics in partnership with BTxPS digital strategy leadership. This position will lead requirements gathering to define and enhance business processes for digital systems. As part of this role, the Business Analyst will prepare forecasts for resource requirements, deliver project plans, track costs, and detail areas of improvement for products, processes or services. This role will collaborate across the BTx Pharmaceutical Sciences organization and with Pfizer Digital and external vendors to deliver solutions that align across the organization.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with BTx Pharmaceutical Sciences colleagues to understand the business needs and build consensus across stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into harmonized requirements that align with regulatory policy and are actionable for digital investment
  • In collaboration with technical experts analyze business process requirements to assist with recommendation of appropriate solution options to meet unmet needs.
  • Engage with the business to identify and define scope for continuous improvement, innovation, and Best Practice initiatives and assist or lead those initiatives to improve the efficiency of processes and systems at the site. 
  • Propose digital application and business process changes to increase operational efficiency
  • Support project management in partnership with the BTx Pharmaceutical Sciences Digital Core Team, Project Leads, SMEs and Digital teams to support the on-going management of the plan of record and digital portfolio.
  • Prepare forecasts for resource requirements, deliver project plans, track costs, and detail areas of improvement for products, processes or services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree, 5+ years’ experience in information technology systems and/or infrastructure with minimum of 1-3 years related experience implementing successful IT solutions in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life science industry.
  • Demonstrated capability to communicate effectively, embrace diversity, influence stakeholders and build business partnerships to deliver results.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Required competencies include business systems subject knowledge; manufacturing process and automation systems knowledge; business acumen; experience with Lean/Operational Excellence tools and driving process efficiencies through process reengineering; ability to manage multiple priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of BTx PharmSci lab and manufacturing processes
  • Good knowledge of System Application & Products and core solutions deployed at the site including: AWS, Spotfire, Boomi, Windward, LabWare, Empower, OSI Pi, Chromeleon, Fluxa, BioNet
  • Experience in GMP & non-GMP labs including the support and analysis of digital solutions
  • Knowledge and expertise with the following disciplines desired: Project Management methodologies (i.e., PMI) , Software Development Life Cycle methodologies, GMP and associated regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of BTx PharmSci lab and manufacturing processes
  

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional work outside business hours to accommodate other Pfizer sites, partners and manufacturing schedules. 
  • Up to 20% travel to Pharm Sci BTx (Andover, MA; St Louis, MO; Durham, NC; Cambridge, UK)
