Based: San Diego, California, US

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and redesign 3D objects in SW
  • Design tests and organize result data
  • Lead projects, and provide guidance to technicians and engineers
  • Document designs, test, and findings
  • Produce drawings, request quotes, select parts, and manage parts inventories
  • Drive engineering processes/methods and use communication and debate skills to achieve optimal results: Teamwork; Efficient, Effective, and Proactive Execution of Goals/Task; and the creation of products which bring delight to our customers.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required:

  • M.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 8 or more years of post-graduate (post B.S.) experience in related field.
    • Or, B.S. in related field with 8 or more years of industry experience.
  • 3D drafting experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A willingness to engage in detailed technical discussions and debates
  • Data analysis skills and a generally quantitative mindset
  • Ability to work independently as well as integrated into a team or leading a small team
  • Laboratory experience and/or hands-on engineering experience

Nice to have:

  • Experience in instrument testing and validation is preferred
  • Experience with thermal systems and thermal management is a plus
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics experience is a plus
  • Experience with fluidic systems/components is a plus
    • Examples: HPLC, Microfluidics, Flow Cytometry, Reactors, Bioreactors, Irrigation, Hydraulics, etc.
  • Experience with robotics/automation is a plus
  • Programming, firmware, and microcontroller skills are a plus
  • Electronics skills (circuit analysis/design, PCB layout, soldering, function generator, oscilloscope, etc.) are a plus
