Director Forecasting & Performance Analytics

Lead the team responsible for design and management of US forecasting and performance analysis at CSL Behring that is synergistic with strategic and tactical brand planning. Incumbent will be the lead support for the North American commercial leadership team for forecasting and performance analytics and must be an effective communicator with all levels of management in both informal and formal settings.

Lead the cross functional process to synthesize quantitative and qualitative input from CSL Behring’s commercial functions to generate an objective set of business expectations that leverage the collective insights of sales, marketing, health care systems, business operations, finance and market insights. Success in this role requires the ability to manage and successfully negotiate with a wide range of cross functional stakeholders across the commercial team to ensure a common alignment to forecasts which inform strategic allocation of resources across the CSL Behring product portfolio.

Oversight and management of performance analytics that are the basis for establishing and reporting on KPIs that inform and guide the management of the US commercial organization. Conduct root cause analysis on historical performance variance versus goal that generates new insights and informs future planning. Proactively identify business risk and opportunities as the basis for guiding strategic direction and investment.

The position will conduct ad hoc analysis of forecast sensitivity which may involve estimates of monthly demand using daily, weekly data and/or risk opportunity sizing and development of models in support of pipeline and life cycle management business case and commercial assessment analysis.

Main responsibilities:

Operate as a strategic business partner to the North American Commercial leadership team  and lead a US forecasting group focused on generating forecasts that synthesize insights and analysis from the breadth of the cross functional commercial organization. Lead the preparation of strategic market forecasts that provide insight into market and segment growth expectations which identify brand opportunities and risks. Application of insights for North American Commercial Operations strategy development. With a focus on continuous improvement, lead the forecasting process for CSL Behring’s US portfolio to improve scope, process and accuracy (e.g., forecasting methodologies & tools, input & output standardization, brand and portfolio dashboards, maintenance of world class forecasting practices). Provide context and forecasting support to cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain) to ensure the potential impact of Commercial brand strategies and tactical investments are well understood and planned for. Support franchise marketing teams as a forecasting and performance subject matter expert member of the contributing teams. Develop and monitor business performance against Strategy Metrics on a recurring and ad-hoc basis. Identify areas of strength and weakness and share insights with senior management.  Formulate feasible recommendations to management for optimizing near-term growth Has responsibility for oversight and effective management of all team members (i.e. direct reports) to include but not limited to the following:

• Annual objective setting
• Mid-year and end of year reviews
• Coaching and counseling as appropriate
• Employee development
• Recruitment, selection and development of talent
• Managing, directing & measuring work on an ongoing basis. Provides timely constructive feedback to ensure quality of work meets or exceeds company standards
• Assuring work is completed in a customer focused manner

Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in business, science or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred
• 10+ years' commercial experience including analytics, forecasting and market research/support of product launch
• Pharmaceutical or biotech experience required
• Management/demonstrated leadership experience
