The Impact You'll Make

• Develop Cybersecurity Red Team and Blue Team capabilities through a combination of internal and external teams including Managed Security Operation Center Services (MSOCS)
• Work towards continuous improvement in identification, management of potential security incidents and acting on anomalous activity based on improvement in processes, tools and techniques
• Lead end-to-end incident response for all types of security events including collaboration with law enforcement
• Detailed analysis and strong understanding of the attack vectors, attack surfaces and detection avoidance tactics
• Find malicious activity and perform forensic analysis across the technology stack including endpoints, network, applications and servers including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS using security and monitoring tools to discover the source and effect of the anomalous security events
• Monitor external event sources for the latest threats and attack scenarios and influence/assist the broader IT team members to implement controls to counter those threats and attack scenarios
• Work with external Threat Intelligence sources to stay ahead of the threats before they can potentially affect the organization
• Develop measures including KPIs, KCIs and KRIs on MSOCS to report on the effectiveness of our Incident Response controls including people, process and technologies

The Team You'll Join

You will be joining a growing IT and Information Security team at Recursion,focused on securely implementing and operating our systems, IT Infrastructure, tools and technologies that enables Recursion to decode biology by running experiments at scale from experiment conception through successful execution. You'll collaborate with your teammates and across departments to agree on what the most important challenges and capabilities are, then figure out how to get us there.

The Experience You'll Need

• Convey security concepts to non-technical audiences (e.g. senior and executive management, internal customers)
• Experience with Security Event Information Management systems (SIEM), and Log Aggregation systems - Splunk or Google Chronicle experience
• Experience with a major cloud Infrastructure platform (AWS, GCP, Azure), Operating systems (Linux and Windows), Databases, Containers, IAM, Directory services, Endpoints, Network amongst others
• Perform network forensics and ability to read packet captures
• Build and troubleshoot live IR and forensics tools
• Obtain memory images & disk images from bare metal and virtualized systems
• Proficient in performing Open Source Intelligence gathering
• Working knowledge of industry standards – NIST Cyber Security Framework, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001/2, Cloud Security Alliance or Privacy Shield
• Support decisions that balance Cybersecurity with ease-of-use
