Product Development Scientist

JOB DESCRIPTION – PRODUCT DEVELOPER AND MANAGER

Scale Biosciences, Inc. (ScaleBio) is an early-stage life sciences tools company developing single-cell library preparation assays, protocols and methods based upon its patented and demonstrated combinatorial indexing technologies. ScaleBio is developing a broad range of genomic, proteomic and multi-omic applications to address the emerging requirements and unmet needs across basic, translational and clinical research fields of study. ScaleBio's products enable unprecedented sample and cell throughput and support a broad genomics, proteomics and multi-omics application menu. The Company is seeking passionate, driven scientific professionals to join our Product Development and Management team. In this role, reporting to our Director, Product Development, you will partner with our Advanced Research group to develop single-cell genomics assay products in support of multiple applications across multiple fields of study. You will have relevant experience in defining product concepts, designing and developing assay and kit-based product offerings, validating these products wit collaborators and supporting our customers.

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership to develop products with breakthrough performance, ease of use, reliability, and robustness.

• Develop and test innovative single cell assays with internal teams and external collaborators to validate products for target markets and end users.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including assay, platform, bioinformatics, software, and commercial.

• Responsibility for planning, tracking, and driving timely execution of assay development activities.

• Coordinate product requirements, translates into specific goals, and ensures products meet customers' expectations.

• Collaborate and deploy project management within cross-functional teams.

• Write reports and present to Senior Management.

Requirements

• Passionate about product development and joy in developing innovative, cutting-edge products.

• 5 + years' hands-on experience in life sciences tools and assay technologies product development.

• Proven track-record of developing assays; single cell assay experience is a plus.

• Proven experience in managing product development and commercialization projects in a multidisciplinary research environment.

• Strong technical proficiency and scientific creativity with background in assay development, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or related fields.

• Success in leading assay development in fast paced environment. Leading teams and external collaborations experience are a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking in a commercial setting.

• Solid understanding of timelines and budgeting necessary for product development.

• Excellent communication skills & team worker.
