The Gilead Business Services center in Raleigh's Research Triangle region will be home to some of the company's critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gilead's business runs effectively and efficiently. Job Summary
Gilead Sciences IT is looking for a Financial Systems Capability Lead, Associate Director to support the Finance domain. Individual is responsible to lead functional and technical design, execution, test and deployment of best-in quality Financial Planning Consolidation & Reporting solutions that meets the business need. Individual will be collaborating closely with Finance business COEs, IT service partners and other vendor teams. Individual will act as domain Solution Architect and be responsible for the design and delivery of solutions to meet business requirements. Serves as strong IT partner to finance business leaders, other IT teams. This role resides in IT and report under G&A Finance organization.

Essential Job Functions
  • Partner with Finance businesses, IT and vendors to design, develop and deploy solutions
  • Work as a strong consultative partner to business partners in defining requirements, proposing solution alternatives and estimates
  • Acts as the liaison with software vendor and IT to ensure effective integration of Finance solutions and other functional systems
  • Provide functional/technical oversight on solution delivery from gathering requirements, conducting fit/gap analysis, mapping business processes, performing system configuration, creating test plans and conducting testing to ensure quality and timely solution delivery
  • Develops highly sophisticated technology plans that require integration of multiple technologies, addressing the interrelationships of multiple systems
  • Proposes new technologies, new technical and architectural strategies, and new processes to meet business challenges in full consideration of costs and benefits.
  • Coordinate and deliver complex cross functional projects
  • Support compliance efforts within IT to support SOX, IT Security and Business Continuity Goals.


Basic Qualifications
High School Degree and Twelve Year's Experience OR Associates Degree and Ten Year's Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Six Years' Experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional experience in IT business partnering and IT solution delivery
  • 10+ years of experience in Finance domain systems (ERP Products, SaaS)
  • Excellent Finance business process knowledge (Financial Planning, Consolidation and Reporting) and related systems experience
  • Excellent business partnering and communication skills
  • Ability to provide consultative advice and decision making
  • Must have experience with Financial Enterprise Performance Management Systems such as Hyperion, Blackline, Oracle FCCS, SAP FP&A
  • Good project management, cross-functional team collaboration and vendor management skills
  • Demonstrate solid track record of driving projects to successful outcomes
  • Experience with managing SaaS vendors is required
  • Overall accountability for data integrity to include quality, accuracy, and usability of employee data and related interfaces, by implementing adequate processes, audits and backup systems
  • Prior experience with SOX, IT Security and legal compliance
