JOB SUMMARY: 

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Sangamo HR team and contribute in two important ways as an Associate Director, HR Communications and People Success.   You are passionate about managing our people programs, developing engagement and communication plans that align the HR team with the enterprise and result in an engaged and effective workforce. This role contributes to the health and success of the organization by knowing the HR deliverables and proactively collaborating with the HR team to identify, develop, and implement programs and engagement strategies that meet the needs of the business. The successful candidate will collaborate with HR, Communications, and senior leadership to develop and implement a long-term plan for culture evolution, engagement, change management and development programs that will support our company’s goals and objectives.

ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Define and evolve an inclusive and consistent HR communications strategy appropriate for our culture
  • Facilitate monthly meetings with internal Sangamo working group to align on upcoming culture/employee engagement activities, communications, responsibilities, and next steps (e.g., develop agendas, action items)
  • In partnership with the Chief People Officer and others on the HR and communications team, this role will be responsible for developing training related to employee growth & development, strengths-based leadership, onboarding and talent management for all Sangamo employees. 
  • Develop an employee experience, engagement and training approach that engages and equips all employees to deliver on our strategy, and owns the programs that support our employee experience (i.e. employee engagement and events, culture and values, manager/leader development, return to office)
  • Lead onboarding, engagement and exit survey strategy, and use the resulting data to shape the employee experience
  • Ensure values are consistently integrated across all HR functions, programs and processes
  • Provide counsel and recommendations as it relates to Sangamo culture and employee engagement priorities, plans
  • Facilitate execution of agreed upon culture/employee engagement activities and communications
    • Track activities (e.g., action plan)
    • Manage event planning and logistics
    • Develop supporting materials and communications (e.g., emails, agendas, event Run of Show)
  • Coach, mentor, and provide development opportunities for direct reports
  • Work on special projects in support of HR initiatives that support the company priorities

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors' degree in related field of study
  • 8 - 10 years’ experience in human resources, communications, consulting or business relevant roles
  • Have a deep understanding of the employee lifecycle, communications, performance/talent management, learning & development programs and employee onboarding
  • Direct experience in supporting human resources/people driven internal communications
  • Very strong program and project management and execution skills
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities in implementing talent-related programs
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Possess the ability to clearly and succinctly present information to internal and external audiences
  • Ability to connect with a breadth of employee perspectives and experiences
  • Proven success in working collaboratively across functions to make a positive impact on culture
  • Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgement
  • Organized, able to prioritize work, able to balance multiple competing priorities
  • Reputation for integrity and dedicated work ethic with desire for ownership of process and product success
  • Technology savvy
  • Team player, willing to adapt based on business needs
