The Position:

Bolt Biotherapeutics, Inc. is a clinical stage biotechnology company located in Redwood City, California and is actively recruiting for a Director of Toxicology who will bring their talent, energy, and leadership skills to deliver safe and effective immunotherapies to cancer patients. This is a rare and exceptional opportunity to join an emerging biotechnology company that is growing and capitalizing on a novel technology platform for cancer therapeutics.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the nonclinical Toxicology functional lead, collaborating with others across the organization regarding strategy for nonclinical programs across the portfolio
  • Interact with key Scientific, Clinical Research, Regulatory, Quality, Commercial, and Manufacturing personnel to achieve project-specific and strategic objectives
  • Responsible for design, implementation, oversight and analysis of nonclinical programs to support drug development candidates across a variety of product stages and platforms
  • Ensure timely and accurate nonclinical study deliverables to enable key project decisions and associated regulatory filings
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Reviews protocols, data and study reports ensuring presentation of data in report is accurate and supports the conclusions
  • Interprets and puts data into context with literature and project goals
  • Solves complex problems requiring thorough scientific assessment and propagates the Bolt culture of innovation and transparency.
  • Plan resources to expand department to meet organizational needs consistent with corporate objectives
  • Communicates effectively cross-functionally in a transparent manner

Requirements 

  • Strong knowledge of biologics, antibody drug conjugates, and/or Immuno-oncology therapeutics and concomitant requirements for regulatory filings with respect to Toxicology
  • Experience with multiple IND filings and early clinical programs
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and submission of pre-INDs
  • Profound knowledge and understanding of GLP and regulatory requirements across the globe
  • PhD in Toxicology or a related scientific discipline with 8+ years of biopharmaceutical or CRO industry experience. Board certification is a plus.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in toxicology management
