We are recruiting for Oncology Key Account Managers to support an exciting launch of a newly TGA registered treatment for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Our initial team will have three full time opportunities in NSW, Vic / SA (Vic based), QLD / WA (QLD based) with more location flexibility as we grow.

These Oncology Key Account Manager roles require expert oncology scientific and technical skills, demonstrated emotional intelligence, strong business acumen and a passion for finding solutions to complex problems for the betterment of patient care.

As a key commercial link between the Gilead in oncology and health care practitioners you will need to have strong existing networks in the oncology ecosystem preferably breast. You will confidently engage with the whole multi-disciplinary team for a thorough understanding of each stakeholder's role and needs.

You will thrive working as a collaborative member of the cross functional team.

Position Responsibilities

Oncology Scientific Expertise

Demonstrates a clear understanding of the factors that impact, shape and influence the oncology ecosystem such as:
  • Deep understanding and navigates complex oncology hospital environments
  • Has established strategic relationships with MDT, opinion leaders & the senior account level leadership as well as other policy shaping and decision makers
  • Partners and collaborates with the oncology multi-disciplinary team as a trusted partner for a thorough understanding of each stakeholder's role and needs
  • Has established oncology networks
  • Expert scientific knowledge in oncology who is as a scientific knowledge expert and clinical resource for oncology to their customer
  • Utilises an in-depth level of product and therapeutic disease knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals to be a valuable resource
  • Understanding of the patient journey from diagnosis to potential treatment via day chemotherapy suites and gaining prioritised strategic insights


Key Account Management
  • Expert knowledge and experience of account management and key account management
  • Development and execution of strategic account plans including prioritised individual stakeholder and account activity plan
  • Deep understanding and navigates complex hospital environments and understand the needs and challenges of various stakeholders at all levels within the account and partner to find win-win solutions
  • Development and execution of strategic account plans including prioritised individual stakeholder and account activity plan
  • Develop strategic relationships with multidisciplinary team members, opinion leaders & the senior account level leadership as well as other policy shaping and decision makers
  • Partners and collaborates with the oncology multi-disciplinary team as a trusted partner for a thorough understanding of each stakeholder's role and needs


Sales Leadership
  • Understand future trends and shape ecosystems to enable introduction of new treatment paradigms
  • Strong strategic partnering ability externally across multiple stakeholder groups including C suite level executives
  • Depth of experience of sales leadership, coaching or mentor level selling skills
  • Experience of launching new classes of oncology therapies and shaping new business including diagnostics
  • Delivers results in non-reimbursed and reimbursed settings
  • Depth of experience of sales leadership, coaching or mentor level selling skills
  • Strong project manager skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the challenges of complex compounded drugs and previously worked on an infusion-based therapy
  • Experience of launching new classes of oncology therapies and shaping new business including diagnostics


Business Acumen and Accountability
  • Understand future trends and shape ecosystems to enable introduction of new treatment paradigms
  • Understand the needs and challenges of various stakeholders at all levels within the account and partner to find win-win solutions
  • Develops in-depth market interpretation of sales analysis data
  • Thrives in an agile oncology setting with dynamic release and fast uptake of new data
  • Preparing a launch plan and ongoing business plan for own territory, assigns targets and communicates required actions to achieve goals
  • Delivering Early Access Programs to plan
  • Seamless transitioning of business from non-reimbursed to reimbursed setting
  • Advanced business acumen to lead the development and execution of strategic account and commercial plans which will include clear goals and tactics aligned with corporate and commercial business objectives
  • Takes full ownership to deliver sales targets in assigned territory and supports delivery of team targets
  • Initiates systems to monitor sales progress and action plans
  • Manages territory budgets for sales and expenditure
  • Represents company at professional events and promote company products at such events
  • Leads sales initiatives within the market to deliver to plan
  • Completes necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner e.g. updating customer database, expenses etc
  • Responsible for achieving the competency levels required in the role
  • Compliance with all regulatory agencies, state, and federal law is required


Knowledge, Experience & Skills
  • Expert in Oncology (including diagnostics), account management and key account management
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with a high level of autonomy and independence
  • Must be able to serve as a technical product expert to HCPs and be able show deep understanding of the broader oncology ecosystem
  • Deep understanding the patient journey from diagnosis, monitoring, treatment and survivorship
  • This position requires knowledge of industry trends and competitor's resources and practices
  • Must be able to proactively identify issues, opportunities, and resolutions and is able to present and effectively communicate issues and recommendations to marketing and sales management
  • Strategic leadership, business agility, transparency and innovation
To be considered you must have:
  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant selling experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • At least 5+ years experience in an oncology
  • Demonstrated track record in oncology account management, key account management
  • Strategic sales leadership and expert selling skills
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen
