    ROLE SUMMARY

    This position for employment is in the Andover Quality Control Microbiology Laboratory working first shift supporting Laboratory operations Monday-Friday.  Occasional weekend and Holiday support should be expected. The candidate should be flexible to support both assays performed in the Laboratory, as well as sample collection as needed to support the business.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    The desired candidate can work effectively in a fast-paced customer -oriented laboratory team environment. Testing includes fundamental support for the following: Bioburden and Endotoxin testing for product and possibly water samples, additionally plate reading support and swabbing support for contaminations may be required.  Experience with cGMP’s, SOP’s, Kinetic Chromogenic & Turbidimetric LAL testing using BioTek and MCS systems, and experience with membrane filtration methods strongly desired. The desired candidate has the ability to Interpret and evaluate data generated in terms of accuracy, precision, for potential GMP impact. The applicant may train others as skill set and knowledge allows and may participate in laboratory investigations as required.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

     Minimum education BS in Microbiology or related field with 0-2 years laboratory setting or industry experience preferred.  Desired candidate should be proficient with computers, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Prior laboratory experience in GMP environment. Demonstrated expertise in Endotoxin testing using Kinetic methods and or prior experience with Bioburden membrane filtration testing. Experience with LabWare LIMS and technical writing is preferred.

      The desired candidate must have the ability to perform laboratory and office work which includes walking, standing, and sitting throughout a shift. Candidate must have the ability to effectively manipulate laboratory testing apparatus. Candidate must have the ability to read, comprehend and follow procedures.

      NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

      Position is first shift Monday-Friday. Some occasional weekend and Holiday support is expected along with occasional off hour support to meet testing needs.
