Job Details

Regeneron's Formulation Development Group in Tarrytown, NY is seeking an R&D Specialist supporting our New Technology team. The Specialist will work on development of several innovative technologies that are applicable to different modalities (e.g. mAbs, fusion proteins, RNA therapeutics), processes (e.g. spray drying, membrane emulsification) and delivery tools (e.g. lipid nanoparticles, microspheres, implants, pumps). Collaborate with our scientists/leads in supporting the characterization and development of novel technologies and tools. Additionally, you will support lab operations including instrument installation and maintenance.A Typical Day in the Role May Look Like:
  • Developing and performing fit-for-purpose analytical methods to characterize formulations using various biophysical and biochemical techniques.
  • Performing extensive characterization of the drug product formulations to support preclinical manufacturing of clinical drug substances and drug products.
  • Collaborating with preclinical PK and various therapeutic groups (e.g. ophthalmology, oncology) on in vivo studies.
  • Utilizing statistical knowledge and software packages (e.g. JMP) for study design and data analysis. Collecting, processing and documenting data in adherence to departmental policies.
  • Presenting work at group, department, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Writing technical documents for internal use and supporting patent application and regulatory filings.

To be considered you are required to have a B.S. with 5+ years or M.S. with 2+ years’ experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Polymer Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or a related field.Experience with the below would be helpful: Chemical synthesis, polymerization reactions, material fabrication techniques (microfluidics, emulsification, flash nanoprecipitation etc.), characterization with chromatography methods (SEC/GPC, RP-HPLC/UPLC), biophysical techniques (UV-Vis, DLS, FTIR, DSC, Fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy), imaging techniques (fluorescence microscopy, SEM).Knowledge of controlled release formulation (hydrogels, microspheres, polymer conjugates), gene therapy modalities (siRNA, CRISPR, mRNA LNP, AAV etc.) is a plus.Does this sound like you?
