Position Title: Director, T Cell Immunology
Position Level: Principal Scientist to Director
Reports to: Mark Wallet
Company Background:
Century Therapeutics is developing novel allogeneic living cell products for oncology that overcome the limitations of current cell therapies. Century's genetically-engineered, universal iPSC-derived immune effector cell products are designed to specifically target hematologic and solid tumor cancers. Our commitment to developing off-the-shelf cell therapies will expand patient access and provide an unparalleled opportunity to advance the course of cancer care.
Century's foundational technology is built on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that have unlimited self-renewing capacity. This enables complex cellular engineering to produce controlled cell banks of modified cells that can be expanded and differentiated into desired immune effector cells, which can supply vast amounts of allogeneic, homogeneous therapeutic products. This platform differentiates Century from other approaches that utilize non-renewable donor-derived cells.
Role:
The candidate would report to the VP, Head of Immunology. They would direct research activities to understand cutting edge new iPSC-derived cell therapies for cancer. The ideal candidate would bring expertise in T cell biology and help the immunology team prioritize research activities, identify novel opportunities for improving cell therapies, develop and refine assays, deploy new technologies, and deeply characterize Century's iPSC-derived T cells. A key responsibility will be managing and analyzing large immunology data sets and posing new hypotheses to advance our cell therapies.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Requirements:
Century Therapeutics Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer - Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.

- Deliver regular presentations to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- PhD in relevant field (immunology, molecular biology, cancer biology, etc.) and 10+ years of relevant postdoctoral experience.
Requirements:
- Technical expertise in core methodologies regularly used to study the human immune system (flow cytometry, microscopy, cell culture, immune assays, etc.).
- Evidence of productive research in T or NK cell biology with a track record of publications.
- Independently uses expertise to design and implement critical experiments, tools and technologies.
- Biotech or pharma experience leading direct reports or relevant academic experience working with cross-functional research teams.
- Excellent communication skills - works collaboratively and builds consensus.
- Ability to multitask and maintain an even keel demeanor under pressure.
- Reliably completes work and reports on time.
