We are currently searching for a Scientific Program Manager to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a part-time position with MSC and is fully remote, supporting groups in Liberia, and Bethesda, MD.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Partnership for Research on Vaccines and Infectious Diseases in Liberia (PREVAIL) Operations Director and the laboratory Lead.
  • Work with the PREVAIL Assistant Director for Laboratory Services to harmonize clinical and research laboratory activities; to assist with building biorepository capacity across NIH DCR special projects.
  • Develop career enrichment opportunities for PREVAIL clinical and research scientists.
  • Work with the Research Sustainability Initiative in Liberia (RETAIN) to build partnerships with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Fogarty International, academic institutions, and other partners conducting scientific research in Liberia to provide coordination to ensure synergy among research projects and collaborations.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of training materials, protocols, and information summaries as needed.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of manuscripts.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in addition to at least ten (10) years of relevant research laboratory experience is required.
  • Candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience working in low resource overseas research laboratories and at least five years of experience working in a clinical setting.
  • Experience supporting clinical trials and studies for infectious diseases research is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing successful international partnerships, working with Ministries of Health, and national laboratories is preferred.
  • Experience in the conduct and analysis of clinical diagnostic, molecular, immunologic, and virologic assays is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of management experience is preferred.

Due to our contractual requirements and federal orders, including an Executive Order from the White House and an emergency regulation from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the position for which you are applying requires that you provide proof of your vaccination status. Compensation

Rate $60- 80 / hr.
