(Senior) Data Scientist Generalist

The Impact You'll Make

In this role, you will be a computational and analytical expert who develops scalable solutions that impact our drug discovery pipeline. You will be working side-by-side with colleagues with complementary expertise.

• Strategize in collaboration with biologists, engineers, and data/ML scientists on the next steps for industrializing various stages of the drug discovery process.
• Deliver scalable software tools for the evaluation and communication of data generated by Recursion’s high-dimensional, high-throughput assay platform.
• Explore novel metrics, analyses, and models leveraging Recursion’s proprietary data universe to over 11 petabytes to build a map of biology and answer unresolved questions about human disease.
• Design scalable analysis tools that will be integrated into the Recursion platform. These tools will allow rapid improvements to our inference-based drug discovery pipeline.
• Create and evaluate inference strategies to discover therapeutics using Recursion’s map of human cellular biology.
• Develop visualization tools to aid biologists in the interpretation of phenotypic relationships observed in our internally derived data.

The Experience You'll Need

• A firm grasp of the fundamentals of probability, statistics, and machine learning.
• High fluency with the Python data stack (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, etc).
• Experience with collaborative software development and peer code review, including distributed version control tools like git.
• Experience developing, releasing, and maintaining software in a continuous-use production environment.
• A track record of outstanding past projects, product development, publications, or presentations.
• Preferred: experience generating and analyzing biological datasets

Leveling

• Candidates with 2+ years experience in an industry setting, or post-baccalaureate experience in a related scientific or engineering field developing data science methods or tools, or equivalent experience in the application of ML and analytical tools in academia work will be considered for Professional level.
• Candidates with 2+ years of relevant experience, a record of product development in domains directly relevant to Recursion’s platform, and/or experience as a technical lead driving execution in these areas will be considered for Senior level.
